Professional FGDM staff performs several roles and carry a wide variety of responsibilities. Primary among these is their responsibility for the implementation and facilitation of the FGDM planning and for leadership of the team, which typically is composed of a coordinator, a facilitator, the child and his/her parents, the extended family members, and other professionals closely involved with the child and family. Other major responsibilities required of staff include but are not limited to case assessment, case management, case reviews, parent support and consultation.
