Specialized Foster Care
HFKs is a high quality specialized program serving behaviorally challenged children and youth whose needs are too intense to be served appropriately in traditional foster care and who are at high risk for institutional placement. HFKs also serve as a transitional, step down service for children who have completed more restrictive placements and are ready to transition back into a community living environment. HFKs has demonstrated that a client's underlying psychological issues can be addressed and a child's behaviors do improve in an outpatient setting through the use of highly trained foster parents, a structured and nurturing home setting, intense case management and clinical support services, individually designed treatment plans, and outpatient community based intervention services.
Every HFKs client is assigned a primary clinical staff person who manages, coordinates, and supports their placement in foster care. HFKs case managers are the nucleus of a complex treatment team, which is assembled to meet the needs of each individual client.
