Dear Keller Williams Agents,
You may never meet the foster children and families served by Hope For Kids but you are making a difference in their lives.
Thank you for sponsoring the 1st Annual “Ride for Children” Poker Run for Hope For Kids. When Agent Michelle Swope learned of Hope For Kids she wanted to help so she approached her colleagues and the Poker Run was on! Your commitment to helping abused and orphaned children is not only treasured by us, but most importantly, by the children.
Did you know that?
- In 2009, Pennsylvania had 25,839 reports referred for investigation.
- In 2009, 4,084 children were substantiated or indicated as abused or neglected in PA. These children’s experience varied-sometimes multiple-forms of maltreatment: 3.9% were neglected, 3.4% were physically abused, and 64% were sexually abused.
- In 2009, 40 Pennsylvania children died as a result of abuse or neglect.
- In 2009, 16,878 children in Pennsylvania lived apart from their families in out-of-home care and 5,911 of were age 5 or younger and 4,791 were 16 or older.
We are blessed to be one of many organizations who provides care and services to these children and having individuals like you who also have the passion and desire to stand with us in this cause and bring Hope to our children. This is not a task that can be done alone and as we rally together, great things will happen.
Hope For Kids has several programs and this year your donation of $1250 will be used to help purchase flooring of our Hope 3:16 Community Center. We have been working hard for 7 years to establish this Community Center and by the Grace of God we will be opening the center on December 15, 2011.
We invite you to take a tour of our agency anytime you might be available. Meanwhile, we will keep you updated on the children and our campaign through our quarterly newsletter.
This year was so much fun and we made some beautiful friendships. We can’t wait for next years Poker Run and we have already started a file with some great idea’s to share with you. Thank you and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Brenda Goldman Patti A. Menges
